Hi MadScientistYes you can get low carb bread, with reasonable size slices, but I think that if you are having trouble losing weight then you should stick to as natural foods as possible for better results.
Low carb did take off in the supermarkets and then crashed again because most of the stuff was too expensive, tasted horrible or wasn't sufficiently low carb for real low carbers to eat! But you are better off without eating fake foods on a regular basis.
12g of carbs all in one meal might perhaps be too much? I'd cut out the bread and see what happens.
- What are your daily carb intakes? You seem to have introduced a lot of things post-induction, but without quantities, there is no way of knowing if this is the problem.
I don't measure the eaxct grams of carb I intake each day, I just know it's fairly minimalI'll try reverting to induction with extra water for a week and try to get back into exercise as I don't feel as knackered as I did a week ago.
If you lost on induction, and not when you started introducing the foods that you listed (and bar strawberries and swede, all the others are notorious for people being carb sensative to) why not go back to your induction foods? Also, if you have got a big belly, maybe you have IBS or candida - which all the post induction foods could be irritating?But plateauing after induction is normal, especially when you don't have much weight to lose.
I'll take a look at some of the recipes on here (I have before, though only got as far as the licking lips stage), though I do notice that on an atkins FAQ it says do not do induction phase if you have 10 or less pounds to lose so maybe my body is clining onto its belly like some secret savings account only to be emptied on a rainy day!I wonder if lo-carb will ever take off in supermarkets in the way lo-fat has.
It's very tempting once you are passed induction to start experementing, but that's when you start re-introducing foods that your body may have a problem with, and can start to have more carbs than you realise.
It seems it would be easy for shops to stock all sorts of cakes, breads etc using soya flour, sucralose etc to make lo-carbing easier.
